Forums - Sony Discussion - Move is accessory hell from a charging perspective.

Except you need one of the USB ports for the Eyetoy.

Anyway I doubt Sony is going to announce that people should keep their Wiis around because they need the extra USB ports to charge PS3 accessories.

or you can use any generic usb powered hub.

Which is more suitable to a desk than a living room. People want fewer cables and less clutter not more cables and more clutter. The PS3 appeals to people who want an all in one system with less clutter where you can play games, watch movies etc in the one box. Adding a bunch of cables everywhere is contrary to many of the reasons why people bought a PS3 in the first place.

People actually charge their stuff on their ps3?  I just have a powered USB hub that I use for all things that need to charge that way.  Much easier than leaving the PS3 on or doing it while I'm playing.

Also if you are charging your move controllers, you probably aren't using the eye, so you can just unplug it.

@Squilliam
Does it really matter where it is?  It doesn't need to be front and center in your entertainment center, just wherever an outlet is.  No different than having a device to charge all the batteries in your other controllers.

PC , Other consoles , plug , plenty of other places to charge.

Not true

When you have very long gaming sessions, you often need to have some on charge while using others, or at least that's what I've found

Slides right into your PS3 slim,  adds 2 additional usb ports and memory card readers.

Except you can charge PS3 devices through any USB device, I've even charged my PS3 controllers on the Wii while having two fightsticks plugged into the PS3 USB ports.

Non issue.

You are not going to keep the PS3 Eye plugged in while you charge the Move controller though, only while you use the move controller.

As to the Wii comment are you trolling because its being almost too ignorant of modern technology?   Everything has USB ports these days, desktop and laptop PCs, TVs, DVD players and so forth, even a clock of mine has a USB port....all in addition to the PS3.

So now you're assuming that people are going to want to plug/unplug things all the time and won't consider it to be a hassle? Are you actually saying that having half a dozen accessories to charge wouldn't be a hassle for the typical person? People are moving (no pun intended) towards simplicity and user friendliness as key features of all products. This is an unnessecary regression.

@Jneul: I mentioned that charge station btw.

Tease.

im out of this and i say everone else also leave this trite to the one who started it..lol

I'm not exactly sure what you are saying isn't true?  I mean if you're playing for 20 hours straight, then sure you can just plug in your spare controllers.  But in most cases it's easier to simply use a hub and not worry about scheduling your play time around charging.

As for the eye, I guess if you're playing with multiple move controllers, and are playing for so long that you need to have spares, then you can't unplug it.  But that just brings me back to my point that a hub is easier.  Nobody seems to complain about needing either spare batteries or a charging station for their Wii/360.
