Has anyone played Ace Combat Six: Fires of liberation?

If so... is it worth buying, it comes out on the sixth of december here and looks pretty damn sweet.

If you guys could reccomend it or give me reason not too buy it that would be great.... thanks.

I've played the demo and it seems really fun. I haven't bought it, but it's not my kind of game actually. The graphics overall are really good. If you like this type of game, get it....

I would give it a 7.5-8. It looks beautiful but there are a few problems here and there:

- Team AI is stupid, to put it nicely. Retarded is how I would phrase it.
- Shooting little red boxes gets old after awhile.
- The story is beyond sappy.
- Online is sketchy, the scenarios just didn't strike me as that interesting. You might be different.
- Dog fighting is fun but hard. You end up chasing some people for what seems like forever just to get a two second window to fire.
- The missles are the suxz0rz. Their range is just somewhere north of throwing a rock out your window while piloting.

Overall, it's a fun game but those are the problems I encountered while playing it. Realize that I'm pretty harsh on games though; there are damned few that I don't pick apart.

I pick this up awhile ago when it came out but due to avalanche of 360 games, I didn't really play it until now.  I like it a lot and I used to be hard-core flight sim fanatic back in the days of Falcon and F22.  

The game is not flight sim but it does a good job at making you feel like you are piloting a jet.  It's a lot of fun if you like this type of games.  Like rocketpig said, it's not perfect, ( I would give it a solid 8-8.5)  

I really wish there are more plan for the control since I would love to pick it up. (Dogfight with 360 pad is not very fun and really hard to do a good manuever).

I am hoping they will come out with more realistic sim like game using the engine.  Real world mission, limited ammo, realistic flight characterstic , not hard-core flight sim level (cause that get boring real fast on a console) which would help extend life of their engine (looks like they put a lot of work in it.   I really miss the old persistence world like F22 and Falcon.  Campaign mode where you can pick and choose the missions you want to fly etc.

Whatever happen to flight-sim genre on PC anyway?

I really want this game, but I cannot afford a 360 just for this, even though I want to. i'll just have to cross my fingers and hope one is released for the PS3. Anyone got the Ace Edge? Any good?

I want the Ace Edge but I just can't justify spending extra $100 for controller for just this one game.  (Though I used to spend more than that for my old PC flight sim set up, but hey that was when I was young and foolish).  I might pick it up if I can find it on clearance or something after holidays.

There are rumors of the PS3 version sometimes in 2008.  I am sure it will eventually be on the PS3.   

mystic - Do you like flight games outside of Ace Combat? The flight stick is PC-Compatible. So it's not too bad if your a fan of PC games.

IMO, I'd definately get it if I knew that there were going to be more and more "serious" flight games for the X360.
