microsoft need to step up. the 360 hasnt had a big exclusive release in ages. they always going back to the same thing over and over to help them.. halo. banking everything on natal is risky, if it doesnt work out how they plan, sony will curb stomp and deliver the final blow im sure. you just never know how consumers will act towards a product. especially a $150 add on even if it does look good and like groundbreaking new technology.

The truth is, though, they have had a couple big exclusives launch lately. They just haven't sold like their previous exclusives. I'm of course counting "console exclusives" in this. You have Mass Effect 2, which sold ~500K less than the first, even with higher review scores and a larger install base. Splinter Cell: Conviction recieved some really good review scores and had a higher install base, but it still will only go on to sell ~ the same as the 360 version of Double Agent. The much internet hyped Alan Wake will probably only reach a mil, if that. It really isn't looking profitable for MS to be shelling out the cash for these exclusives, whether timed or real.
I really don't see any other choice for MS but to put its faith fully in Halo and Natal. I'm sure Reach will sell really well. But, of course, it's not going to bring many new gamers in (read: be a system seller). Natal is the tricky one. I personally don't see it bringing many new gamers in, either. I mean it's obvious they are aiming for the casual crowd, but Nintendo already owns them. And they aren't going to get many of their hardcores on board, especially since even their largest franchise, Halo, isn't said to be using the tech. Or if it does, it will be in a very limited capacity. That's why I think Move will do better overall, even if it isn't a huge hit, since it has the ability to aim for the casuals and hardcore gamers.
