Forums - Nintendo Discussion - New Wiimote with built-in MotionPlus?

http://kotaku.com/5543662/whats-new-about-nintendos-new-wii-remote

Over the past few weeks, a new version of Nintendo's Wii Remote controller was tested and ruled totally compliant by the FCC. What has changed about the device that gives the Wii its waggle?

Well, the model number has changed from RVL-003 to RVL-036, but thanks to the confidentiality letter request from the applicant, Hon Hai Precision—which may be better known as Foxconn—we'll have to speculate for now. The wireframe image doesn't tell us much other than "Hey, that's a Wii Remote!" but speculation from Engadget that this may be a Wii Remote with the MotionPlus add-on built-in sounds about right.

Update: Commenter n_gamer notes that the drawing appears slightly different that the current remote, with a new seam at the base of the controller.

We're just a few weeks away from E3, so the timing feels right. Nintendo introduced the Wii MotionPlus accessory at the show two years prior, right around the time developers said they were thinking about ways to integrate the device into the standard Wii Remote. That's something third-party controller makers have already figured out.

Nintendo also plans on showing the new Legend of Zelda game for the Wii at E3, which may very well require the use of Wii MotionPlus to play. Nintendo recently launched a new Wii bundle that includes Wii MotionPlus and Wii Sports Resort, perhaps signaling more aggressive support for the accessory.

So. Wii Remote with Wii MotionPlus standard? Sound right to you?

That would certainly be neat!

About time!

Making the wiimote without WM+ allowed every owner to still play WM+ games without the cost of a wiimote, sure there will be bitching, but now its sorted.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

I would buy it, if black, what I would preffer however is a zelda wii with m+ bundle

wouldn't surprise me, it's the next logical step

The niko wand plus always looked tempting to me, it has had some decent reviews thus far.

Limited edition Zelda Wiimote? Yes please.

Nov 2016 - NES outsells PS1 (JP)

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

Interesting. Then I'll have to sell my old ones and buy a couple.

The only real problem I have with the WM+ in its current form is you can't really turn it on its side to play games like NSMB Wii.

If this is true, I wonder what they'll do with the current Wii bundle? I imagine they'd replace the old Wiimote with WM+ with the new one eventually, but I wonder how soon that will be?

HAHAHA the funny thing is i made a thread today titled "will nintendo ever consider making a wiimotion plus wiimote?" then there is already rumours of nintendo making a device? lol
