About this time last year, the PS3 was in the same spot as the 360 is today. It was on the edge of falling below 100k a week. Doomed-threads were being posted all over the interwebs. The 360 will get a nice boost on AW week, but after that its kind of slow for a while, so we'll probably see a 90k number soon enough.

The 360 has been outsold since the Slim release (Sept-May), lost the holiday sales, despite having a 199$ console it gets outsold, its in its 5th year on the market, the exclusives are far apart, its currently close to droping below the 100k mark, still no success in JP and is only on top in the US out of all regions.

Do you think the 360 has hit its peak, and is now slowly fading away?
Or do you think the 360 will survive just fine for another 4 years until the supposedly nextbox gets released?

Not the same spot. You see the PS3 actually has to pass the Xbox 360 sometime in 2011 if ever for them to be in near the same spot. However in absolute console sales the Xbox 360 passed the point of no doom quite a while back.

The market is big enough for the 360 to have a healthy rate of sales until the nextbox releases regardless of how badly it is being beaten by the PS3.

and if a redesign comes along with Natal, (and as we know Reach) then 360 sales have a good chance at competing well with Sony and Gran Turismo 5, if not exceeding the PS3 sales ww.

Price cut plus Natal need to play out before anything happens.  As far as things being doomed, I see that as sales getting so bad that Microsoft is losing hundreds of millions of dollars quarterly, if not annually on the 360 (this has been where the PS3 has been) and decided enough is enough and bails out.  If not passing the PS3 but being in the same position as the PS3 would be considered progress actually.

As long as their making profit it shouldn't matter who's favorite system sells more. If they can keep competition alive that is important to keep companies from getting fat and lazy with success. To much successs will lead to zero change so that is why who wins is just a fun way to waste time.

This sites bias is becoming almost unbearable. No the 360 is nowhere near doomed, neither is any system on the market (except possibly the PSP)
