Seriously, I can't be the only one! My PS3 takes about 2x as long as my 360 or Wii does to update. It is so irritating! It takes about 2.5-3 hours to download an update around 30mb...

Is there a reason as to why it takes so much longer?

Seriously, the firmware and game updates need to freaking stop.

There's something wrong if it takes longer than 30 minutes, especially 2 1/2 hours. Mine generally take about a total 10 minutes (download + install).

you have a problem although the ps3 updates take longer as they aren't a patch but include all previous updates.

When I was updating both my PS3s (slim and Phat) was very odd that using the same internet connection the slim would ALWAYS take longer to update than the Phat. Sometimes it would be almost double (and at other times equal). Was interesting to say the least.

uh 30mb? is around 80Mb for me, and it does take a long time but i always download it to my pc when am surfing the web or something, if its a connection issue on your ps3 go to the web site an ddownload it to your pc.
