Another funny note:

FFXIII PS3 - 828.8k
BC2 360 - 825.5k

FFXIII 360 - 493.9
BC2 PS3 - 451.2

Definitely drives home the point of what type of gamer owns each console in North America.

Considering the BC2 ratio is larger than the FFXIII one, would those who say that Versus XIII should be exclusive say the same in the opposite direction should there be a Bad Company 3?

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Not to defend those making such claims, but keep in mind this is for America only.  Both FFXIII and BC2 are selling better on ps3 in Europe and Japan.

Worldwide the gap for FFXIII is 3.29:1 in favor of ps3.  Right around 4:1 if NPD's figures are more accurate than ours.  BC2 is only 1.55:1 in favor of 360.

That ratio is useless though, because it was only on PS3 in Japan, and there's no way it would have any bearing on whether Versus XIII went to the X360.

Whereas we should all be focusing on the figures of a single territory?

So it looks like we were low on FFXIII PS3 and high on FFXIII 360 compared to NPD. We had it at 1.34:1 in favor of ps3, while NPD has it at 1.68:1, a ratio that fits better with both our pre-order numbers and the number of units we've moved at my store.

Our figures:

ps3 - 769.3
360 - 574.6

NPD's figures:

ps3 - 828.2
360 - 493.9

npd doesnt track bundles though so vgc was pretty spot on with ff 13 360

If you're asking me if I believe it would be a more valid and userful comparison than bringing in a territory where only one version was released? Um, yeah.

North America isn't the only territory where it released on the X360.

Sony Published FF7. I doubt Square-Enix Wants Sony Publishing. Because they get less money.

I'm not entering your argument though.

FF7 ended up becoming the best selling Final Fantasy ever.

Infact, i'm pretty sure it's the best selling RPG on home consoles full stop.

But seeing how money hungry SE seem to be this gen... I can see your point.

Like I mean I'm sure, if Sony Publishing it, meant selling as much as as FF7 did. Square-Enix would let sony publish it as they'd get more money.

Although, there are many reason 7 could have sold well

-First in 3d

-Tetsuya Nomura :P (aren't his Edit: Character Designed FF the best selling FF's)

-Yuffie. :P had to put that there <----

-Something more complicated that I can't think of because I am not all knowing

Well although I know what you are saying, I could see that being interpreted to mean many things.  Which one are you implying that it means because of all the different things I see it suggesting, it might as well be useless for insinuation and assumption about a user base.
