I think Sonys biggest problem was the idea that they wanted the PS3 to be this "media center." So people are buying it for other purposes such as a Blu-Ray player or other purposes. With a PS4 they should go back to being a core gaming machine only.

actually if u use brain,logic,eyes....ey sell on par(only fanboys refuse to accept this),maybe with slight edge for 360 since its longer on market with more games.we all know gt5 ll sell on halo level,mgs4 is over 5 mills,gt prologue at 4.6 mills(official reports).
we dont know where ll uc2 end,big chance 4-5 millions after price cut and bundling,here in eu that game is still at high price 30-40 pounds 7 months after release.
so i d give slight edge to 360 but nothing big as u want to represent it.

Resistance and  Uncharted 1 and 2 have done quite well.

Resistance 2 was crap

Killzone 2 would of sold loads more if the control scheme wasn't so crap.

Other factors:

The PS3 had a significantly lower install base when most of those games were released

PS3 Exclusives that have been released lately (HR, GOWIII, MAG, UC2), have been released within such a short time of each other that they are competing with each other for gamers time and money.  I still haven't bought UC2 of HR, but I definatley will when I have the time to play them.

Also The blu-ray factor, no-one buys a PS3 ONLY for watching Blu-rays, BUT if they do buy blu-rays sometimes, then they have less cash available to buy games.

their nothing wrong with the controls of killzone, the controls actually make the game more strategic. their is nothing wrong with aiming by using R3.

It's hard to judge a trend with the heavy hitters PS3 has had this year but I think they have turned a corner on sw. Squeenix's latest is not a good example of anything. It is an anomaly and in a league all it's own but GOW 3 had a good start, HR is way above expectations and they have beaten 360 in NA and DS in Japan this year. Attach rate is climbing as well.

Sorry but GT5 would not offset Halo this gen unless you think it will sell 30m. That's where the sales for hd Halo titles are headed. Some PS3 devs have let Sony down by not releasing till year 4 or 5. It's all about quality but still, it hurt.

360 is more than a shooterbox as so many titles attest. Where would fable 2 rank in the PS3 sales database? 3.54m puts it 10th, ESIV at 3.25 and fallout 3 at 3.10 would be top 20 easily. DA:O 360 has outsold the PS3 version and DS combined in spite of reviews and that's just my fav. genre. Plus 100 percent of 360 owners in my house got it for a wrpg! Nods sagely and rubs grizzled chin.

I think it has to do with the fact most of X360's AAA games are in the FPS genre, whereas the PS3 has AAA games pretty much in every genre. It only makes since that a lot of the 360s userbase is going to buy the flagship FPS on a heavy FPS system. You should also try comparing new game sales in "others" the PS3 version outsells the 360 version. It's also funny to see multi-platform JRPG games sell better on the PS3, even in the US; FF13 was a perfect example of this.

1,Put PS3 exclusives sales together,then they are not "SO BADLY" any more,'cause PS3 has got more great exclusives,that separates sales,IMO.

2,One year selling advantage that Microsoft sacrificed quality for gained a lot for XBOX360,selling something without competitor for a whole year is really "BIG".

3,I still think SONY should release PS3 when it's on substandard status like Microsoft to gain the opportunity to sell HD console first.

Its because all PS3 owners are secretly Xbox 360 fanboys >.>
