Forums - Gaming Discussion - 1up posts a questionable list.

http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3164530

This is supposed to be a list of the top ten video game turkeys, but they just list games that didn't live up to hype, or that they felt didn't.

That is NOT what a turkey is. A turkey is a critical and financial failure regardless of hype. This list is like calling Matrix Revolutions a turkey. The film was a major disappointment, not a total bomb, since it made a profit ($400+ million worldwide). A turkey is supposed to be Howard the Duck or Ishtar.

Even Lair isn't a proper call due to a) it has some legs, and b) most of the PS3 games are selling low in the US.

A turkey in gaming would be Bomberman Act Zero, since the game is a critical and financial bomb.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

The list has nothing to do with sales. Final Fantasy 8 and MGS 2 sold fantastic. Its just a list of games that were way over hyped. I totally understand Perfect Dark Zero. I bought the 360 because of that game! ha ha Im surprised Killzone is not on that list (the Halo killer). Final Fantasy 8 was the first final fantasy game I ever owned so I loved it but I understand the hate. It was so tedious.

I don't care how much it sold... i loved shenmue 2 on my dreamcast :)

But "turkey", in that sense, does. That's my point.

I never took them serious when they said that Metal Gear Solid 2 costs them"60 bucks". Come on, They list IGN as a source of information on their news topics.

Quack!

I'll bet my avatar and a 1 month ban that the PS3 by March 08 will be 3 Million units away in WW sales of the Wii. konnichiwa, Your gonna regret this!!!!!!

I don't think Assassin's creed is a turkey. It lived up to my expectations. I knew there would be some problems because it was made by ubisoft but they arent that bad.

I don't agree with two games.

FFVIII = (I loved it more than FFVII).
MGS 2 = ( I was so in love with boat level and the details that I could not stop playing this for a month it was for sure a satisfaction of the hype for me.).

About Final Fantasy 8, I absolutely hated "drawing" magic from everything cause it was so time consuming. And the GF' animations took forever and you couldnt skip them. There fun to watch at first but not over and over again for the millionth time. But to this day, it is my favorite game of all time, just dont ask me to ever play it again,

True the drawing of magic sucked but after all I didn't used many magic in that game.

The worst part about the GF's are the fact that if you don't know you missed so many GF's (You have to draw some GF's from bosses and in my first playtrough I didn't know this) I missed euhm Siren (almost in the beginning) Carbuncle, Pandemonium and others.

But after all the story was very appealing for me, I was so jealous of that school I wanted to have a school like that, the fight on the school was so awesome, your first mission with that giant robot, the love story between Rinoa and Squall).

After I beated that game I came to the conclusion I was like him (Squall) and in fact FFVIII changed my life.
