Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo in "3D" is HUGE this coming generation.

Wow, the possibilities. I love the whole "3D" aspect that will be incorporated into gaming.

Lets say for a shooting game, you could "peep" around the corner and see a baddie you would not have normally seen. Because with this new "3D" gameplay that Nintendo possibly has going on, it is possible. Imagine being able to look at the tv/screen at different angles and see more.

Like a terrorist just around the corner in Call of Duty. Suprise grenade anyone?? Peep around for the sniper kill?

A skeleton hiding behind a huge tombstone in a graveyard in Zelda. Link and his steel know what to do.

This is just one aspect! There are countless of other 3D gameplay aspects you could use for RPG, action, story, sports games and so forth.

Simple things like a "Looking outside the window game". You have a flatscreen up against the wall that looks as if it is a window to the outside world! Kids playing, birds chirping, hell you could even have some Rhino's run by. And because its in "3D"? You can look out the window and see more!

Oh man the possibilites

Also just one thing Nintendo needs to get with. Next Gen, have some sort of an Nintendo online community. A name tag instead of different 10+ digit codes for every single game.

I doubt that 3D could work exactly like that way, at least with the current tecnology....it seems to me like a simple but cool graphical improvement.

Easily. With a head tracking type of controller. Maybe it is just a necklace you wear?

If you are talking about the 3DS... the DSi camera can already track faces (as can most digital cameras nowadays)

lol I know exactly what you mean Weezy. Yeah depending on how they do the 3D stuff it could be a possibility. Yes it would be cool for shooting games and scary games as well. Peak to see if there are any monsters etc.

Im in favour of 3D adoption, on the condition that its done the 3DS way, i.e, No Glasses, you have no idea how annoying it is to have to wear the 3D ones on top of the ones I need to see.

Nintendo is just copying sony.. HA! yeah i said it.

Sony announced 3D compatabilty for its Home console, which I believe would also require those damned glasses.

Nintendo announced full 3D for its new handheld console, without those damned glasses.

I dont know "copying" is the right way to describe it

sigh this is not where I want gaming to go, I already dislike 3D in movies, how about companies spend resources on cranking up the graphics rendering capabilities rather than spend money on trying to give the game/movie depth to try and give you the illusion that your there, it's either virtual reality or nothing.

All this 3D stuff is just a retarded annoying gimmick, it was cool back i the day were things actually flew out into your face, but now days they can't even get the gimmick right, and I feel the same thing will happen to games, which is why I don't want this gimmick implemented in game at all.

thats my 2 cents.

Eh... maybe.

Personally I see 3D as the next HD graphics.

In other words I think it will be something that costs more then it's worth and most people won't care.
