Alot of the originals are bye-bye, back in 2006 it was awesome, in 07 it was at its best, in 08 it was okay, last year it was going down fast and hard, and now... well... its just not the same, people make a website and this ones lost its luster quite abit.

Still its one of the finest gaming sites around bar none. next to the official hawaiian forums anyway.

Still it's better than anything else out there, right? Which general gaming forum is more sophisticated than VGC?
(talking only forums here, with the sales numbers and analysis VGC is one of a kind)

Everything worthwhile is a struggle against entropy and decay. Maybe the site is going downhill, but moaning about it isn't going to do any good. Just try to participate in a positive manner, with good posts and good threads.

The reason the forum's slowing down is because most of the conversations worth having have already been had. We've talked about the strategies, the successes and the failures of this generation ad nauseam, so we're waiting for new ventures, strategies and ideas for us to chew on. Move and Natal, mobile gaming and digital distribution are still providing some good fuel for discussion, along with the usual recent and upcoming game releases. Find something that interests you and dig in.

this is what i think. you hit the nail on the head. but i think early-mid 08 was the best. Too many Sony haters back in early-mid 2007.

But with tha being said its still the best gaming site around. It just isnt the site that it used to be

This pretty much. We already had many great discussions, but complaining that the forum is going down hill won't do any good. Go out and find something worth posting!

I don't think so. I just think people are more whiny now. It was different when the wii was in first and not only that but doing even better then it was now because it was at a high arc.

Additionally sony was in last place... by a LOT so they didn't complain as much, since it was partly true back then.

While 360 had almost no fans. People have just got OODLES more defensive ever since the PS3 started to not suck up the sales charts, and the Wii started doing less unbelievably awesome.

The 360 thread topics are the same, it's just the reactions that are worse... often by those veteran members.

I mean, to expound on what i mean... back then it was pretty simple.

If someone said something trollish, the general wii response would be the equivlent of "scoreboard bitch."

if somone trolled the Ps3, the general response was "who cares about sales, I don't care about what you think or wait for." and that was about it.

Now that the Wii is doing less well then in did in 08. That's something people constatly bring up and is true.

While as PS3 is catching up both in numbers and software to the 360, so it's not a long drawn out "PS3 WILL pass it look at the numbers/how long... and then a large rigamorle of discounting each others exclusives... so and so is overrated, so and so is on PC blah blah blah.

360... still continues to have few fans.

I think this site has gone down hill in the last few months. All the talk of implementing monthly subscription fees and banning people who use ad blocker has really damaged the reputation of the site.

i see more playstation fanboys ever since the PS3 slim came out on this site.
