how big are the chanses of this doing over 1 million in its first week

Why does everybody think that when Halo:Reach releases xbox 360 sales will boost?
Come on people,the ones that are going to buy Halo:Reach already have a 360
This week sales should be good for the ps3

so what kind of numbers are we talking about here for yakuza and GOW III and hardware WW.
i mean preorders for GOW III were about 500.000 so it should do 600 to 700 right and in europe slightly less maybe 500 so were def looking at over 1million niceeee

Because that is just the way it works. Media attention and people waiting to get it bundled or whatever... Just like how mario galaxy 2 will boost the Wii's sales even though everyone who wants it should already have a wii.

I don't think it can outsell wii, because sony is having more trouble than nintendo stocking the console..

Not exactly, Mario Galaxy and Halo are already on their respective systems. This will be the first incarnation of God of War on PS3. That alone will give a boost to PS3 sales. The others probably wont get such a boost, imo.

Even despite the reports of lack of stock I still think Sony might have gotten atleast a somewhat larger shipment in this week like they said. We've been hearing about stock shortages for over a month now but they're still selling about 90k per week. Plus the PS3 will probably win Japan this week by a good 10k-20k. And if the GOW3 boost is good enough in Others than PS3 might win there too. I'd say the PS3 has a fair chance of winning this week.

In terms of NEW software, Wii doesn't have shit for this week.
PS3 beat it last week in software sales, and this week will squash it by leaps and bounds with GOW3/FF13/Y4/HR/B:BC, etc.

Co-incidently Yakuza 4, GOW3 & FFXIII have ALL broken records for franchise sales in the respective regions they were released in!
