Excellent thread, about time the Saturn was mentioned. Saturn really excels with 2D. Hence the superior versions of SHMUPs and 2D fighters. Sega put in a pretty good showing too. Literally over 1000 games never made it out of Japan unfortunately.

Right on about the Shmups. Saturn rocked those like no other. Plus it was extremely easy to do some import gaming using an action replay. I really have to get myself a copy of Panzer Dragoon Saga. That's one Saturn title I've never played.

That's harsh. Anyway it was Sony's PS2 that ended Sega's home consoles.
