I predict 3.5 million first week and a lil bit over 10 million lifetime for Reach.

But with that said, I think it's a mistake by Bungi to leave Microsoft and Halo and try to make a new game. From an artistic creation point of view I can't speak for them, they probably are tired of Halo and want to create something new but saleswise it will be hard for them to make a 10 million seller. How many new 10 million seller franchises have we seen in this gen on HD consoles? Only Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed.

Yes, I am also a little bitter. Quite much in fact.

Actually, neither Assassin's Creed sold 10 million, unless the first broke 2 million on PC.

Quite amazed it managed to do what it has tbh, let alone 10 mill, it's good but it's not THAT good.

Halo: Reach should and probably will outsell Halo 3, for simple reasons.

1: It's a better product.

2: Bigger Xbox 360 install base.

3: Bungie's last Halo game.

4: Advertising frenzy.

5: Releasing a month before their competition will be great as well.

2 months!

Halo Reach will sell 5 milions first week and overall  15 milions.

It's Bungie's last Halo, they probably tried to make it good as possible and MS will hype the hell out of it. I'm pretty sure it'll beat Halo 3, just out of all the features. I've seen some people go around to buy it just because of forge 2.0 lol!

As long as Bungie keeps putting out more informtion about Reach and just how good it is looking I don't see how it won't outsell Halo 3.  I've always been more of an MW guy because I prefer the one shot one kill style but I still aprreciate what bungie does with their MP.  And Forge looks sick! if they allow people to make their own maps and have others download them it could attract alot of the MW players that felt abandoned by Infinity ward and Activision.

I'm counting Medal of Honor (Seeing how it's a first person shooter in a established franchise.) as competition aswell, which releases on October 12th, so within 1 month actually.

The only MoH game on 360 did 500k, and previously on Xbox, the highest selling one is 1.44 mill.

I don't think it's big enough to be considered competition.

The first Medal of Honor game on 360 was bloody awful, that's why it didn't sell well i reckon, and i could see this new one sellling way better looking at pre-order numbers, and gameplay videos, so personally i think that's it competition, how small even. But that's a discussion for another time/place. :)

And yes, Halo: Reach will blast it in sales, there's no question about that.

Oh, you're right.

But AC 2 has a decent chance to hit 10 mill eventually. If it has the same legs as AC 1 from now on it will reach 9.5 mill, and it's not outrageous to assume that the PC version sold 500K.
