Forums - Sony Discussion - PS mote so far: Maybe not as perfect as sony claims it is

wow seriously, complaining about pre-alpha.

This stuff looks terrible, and I expect the Natal launch to be just as ugly, frankly. I just have no interest in this stuff. Did you see "Move party" screens for the love of everything good in gaming?

Our favorite hobby is taking a decided turn for the worse. Ugh.

On the one I don't want this stuff to bomb, because many of the devs and publishers (and Sony for that matter) really don't need the losses. But I also fear it being a success because this could really shift the market to a place i don't really care to go. These early reviews are worse than I thought - though kotaku was more enthusiastic than some, if you are looking for better reviews.

Can't we all just get along and play our games in peace?

The one they are talking about that is laggy is the fighter one, but the sports chamions or whatever they said are very responsive and there is no lag, and do what you do with your hands. So yeah, people are complaining about a game that is in Pre-Alpha that even says like 20% complete and the only game that is laggy. It makes me laugh sometimes.

GDC 10: Sports Champions Hands-on
Now let's just get this out in the open: this is totally a Wii Sports Resort copycat (PS3 Sports Resort, amirite?). Don't even deny it, Sony. Gladiator Duel, Archery, and Table Tennis look like they were lifted straight out of Nintendo's Wii Motion Plus poster child. Granted, there are numerous other games like Disc Golf, Beach Volleyball, and Bocce that Wii Sports Resort doesn't have, but Sony hasn't shown those off yet.

I swear I played Disc Golf on that game last weekend.  And I sucked at it :)

And people wonder why Nintendo barely even announces their games until they are three months from release.

They should not have even shown a game that is 20%done. As I posted elsewhere bad move by Sony. Noone is going to walk away thinking oh I see it is only 20% done. All they will see is lame that is some bad motion controls once the word is spread around. I would expect to see this game much further along at E3.

They needed to show it though, I mean they aiming for a FALL 2010 release, they don't want another PSP GO were nobody knew about it.

I think they should at least waited to till E3 and do what Microsoft was doing and have private group showing

Just want to play good games

It's somewhat worrisome though, isn't it?  Pre-Alpha with 6 months to launch or so?  One month prior to that they have to go gold.  So 5 months to get it to alpha, beta, bug testing, polishing, etc.?  It doesn't fill me with confidence.  I mean they don't look amy further along than the Natal stuff last E3 where it bugged on the avatar's shoe.  And they had over a year.

It really lowers my E3 hopes for a good showing by both MS and Sony, when they focus on all this garbage.  Ick.

I am confident because the game isn't "GOD OF WAR" level production, its a simple mini game.

The controller does have 1:1 almost perfect precision according to other demo presentations, but yes, if its the same at launch, then they failed on there promise to offer the most accurate control on a console.
