But Samus didn't work alone in Corruption. She had the assistance of several other hunters, two Aurora units, and an entire Federation fleet.

Of course, every one of those hunters died, and Samus seemed pretty traumatized about it...

A little aside, but Sakamoto basically retconned the Primes out of the timeline during his E3 interviews.  He only "considers" Metroid/Zero Mission, Return of Samus, Super Metroid and Fusion.

That being the case I'm glad he doesn't have total control of the series

I'd say he does at this point.  It is his series anyway.

If he had total control of the series, I don't think Echoes or Corruption would have happened.

Corruption, anyway.

idk. Corruption seems to be the closest to Other M in terms of design so far. The only line i can see between Other M and Fusion is the Samus narration

Also: i guess i was wrong, Adam is in this game, which is strange. Again, the implication from Fusion seemed to be that he had died quite a while ago, not in the events that immediately preceded Fusion. And the "Remembuh Me" guy's name is Higgs. He calls Samus "Princess." >_<

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Just keep your head level. Remember, it's not about what you or I think Metroid should be, it's about whether or not this game is fun as its own game.

Yeah, I personally don't care if they repeatedly retcon the everloving shit out of Metroid. I like to explore the story of the individual game because they tie it in with the exploration of the game world. I don't really feel the need for some overarching story cohesion.

I don't care what people think about the addition of story in Metroid. Metroid deserves some proper exposition & Nintendo should work some on their presentation. This is a win-win as far as I am concerned. The introspection of Samus is fitting of her lonesome character.
