At first i thought Alan Wake was a sandbox, then a horror, and now its an action thriller. There is no doubt I'm still going to get it, but what genre is this game?

yeah this guy really seems to like it, its a AAA game, but we will have to wait and see

The Awesome genre

I can't wait to play this. He seemed like he really is enjoying the game.

At first it was sandbox, but they scrapped that idea years ago. It was never a horror game (although people mistakenly thought that).

Gameplay mechanics-wise it belongs in the action-adventure genre just like Assassin's Creed, GTA or Uncharted, but specifically Alan Wake's theme is thriller.

looks good.  I might have to consider to pre-order.
