Uhg. Too many glitches in No Man's Sky. I never usually tolerate so many bugs in a game, but much of the experience has been excellent. Having said that, I'm dead tired of running to my PC and typing in "No Man's Sky" "can't do this" "missing that" "not registering whoozit" "disappearing kablingy".

Now I can't board my own Capital Ship, and this fix for it is garbage. Warp to another system, them summon my fleet and have them warp to that same system. And on it goes until the next bug. Fuck it. I'm just gonna fast track to the plat and be done with it.

I haven't fast tracked to the plat, and the most recent patch has nulled almost every annoying issue.

Found my cat today when i came home from work, his tail crushed,a wound with maggots on his back, dragging his two back legs and pee and blood everywhere.Did my best to try and let him drink some water and food,he consumed bit of both and after he did lay down for an hour he dragged himself to me just to rub his head against my leg, during that i was busy with trying to find a vet for emergency situations and when i found one my cat was gone again, searched everywhere and in gardens with neighbours, its like he came to say his last goodbye before going to die somewhere lonely. So stupid of me to not lock him inside, could have saved him but instead killed him and he was my best buddy.

Oh my god! Man, that's just just awful. I wish I could say something that would help. That's just a tragic story...How big is you place? Did you search everywhere inside?

I think it is possible that he did come back to say goodbye. Animals do sometime do go off to die...I'm sorry if any of this sounds clinical. I'm absolutely gutted for you. I haven't had an animal companion since our family cat died. He went through a very rough spell at the end, and was in a lot of pain. We had him operated on twice, and even had him on meds, but in the end, we had to have him euthanized.

I guess if anything, I have some idea of what you're going through. Stay strong bro.

on 31 July 2019

Well he came back again, staying up all night to try remove all the maggots i can get and trying to give him some water from time to time, not food since that would be dangerous with the painkillers tomorrow.Sucks that there is no avaible to come to here and that i need to get him in a catbox and move him.

on 31 July 2019

That's good news that he came back. Poor guy is likely confused. Let me know what happens, and best of luck in helping him through this.

on 01 August 2019

Had to let him sleep in,the maggots already perforated his intestines and he was beyond saving.

on 01 August 2019

Too much suffering for the cat that suffered so much already to get home.

on 01 August 2019

Will try to get a kitten next week so the other cat does not have to be lonely for a long time and when my new fence around my garden is placed this month i will make sure the cats do not leave the garden anymore, too much risks involved with letting them outside of them and i'm too attached to my pets to keep losing them and see them suffer.

I'm glad at least someone seen my hopeful addition to the PS4 controller! I was in a proper silly mood and was just thinking... what would be the most wacky thing I could think of. It was either going to be that or a George Foreman opening on the side of it.

A good idea is a good idea. And we already had the Foreman grill last gen. Gotta keep innovating.

on 26 July 2019

oh god yeah... the ps3 phat, I forgot that was designed using the same mold as used in the foreman grills.
Maybe that's how they'll add ps3 backwards compatibility, create an accessory to attack to the ps5 which is a small USB George Foreman Grill... functional too so you can make snacks mid game.

Hey man. It's been OK. Have to start looking for another place to live, which I've been putting off. Because I hate moving so much!

Game wise, I'm still playing small budget Japanese games ( and Lara Croft Go. lol ) instead of the PS first party lineup.

Started Attack On Titan s3 this week. Watched almost all of it, save the last 2 episodes. Love it

How about you sir?

on 07 June 2019

Moving sucks. The temptation to procrastinate is too strong.

You catch Lara Crofts? I want that. I've been playing the Castlevania collection and some Diablo 3.

As far as shows go. Anime wise I've been watching Blue Exorcist and regular TV shows I have been watching recently are Chernobyl and True Detective.

All in all, pretty chill weeks.

on 07 June 2019

You kinda catch Crofts, by way of costumes.I'll look up Blue Exorcist. I have Drifters on blu-ray on standby because I thought it looked cool, but there's only so much time. Been 2 years since i bought it. :)

No worries. I'm waiting to see it with a friend coming to visit who worked on it. He worked on Deadpool 2 too At least it was something expected. Something that was long speculated on and made sense both within the dogma of the MCU and in the trappings of the real world. So it's not big shock in the least. But still. Jesus Tapdancing Christ...Those fuckers at Zergnet have links that go beyond clickbait and venture into striaght up lies. I've been morbidly fascinated by their very existence for years.

on 10 May 2019

So how's Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain?

I didn't buy it and 50/50 at best that I will. I said back in December that I'd probably be playing EDF 5 until April, and here we are. :) If it were a proper EDF game, I'd probably buy it. As it is, EDF: Iron Rain is similar to EDF Insect Armageddon: A game with the EDF name on it, made by a different dev in an attempt to appeal to a western audience.

It looks like a decent enough game, and I do love online co-op, but Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is probably my next main, while I keep on with EDF 5 to 100% completion, and playing with friends to help them finish as well.

For the record, I have completed 2216 out of 2220 online missions, not including the 2 dlc packs or the single player missions I've done. At approx 510 hours as of last night. It's the only game I've played since I started it on launch week last December. Although that's partially because I can't even look at my mem card destroying Vitas.

on 17 April 2019

So, what's your favorite Radiohead track this week?

Hm, I watched reviews of EDF: Iron Rain and it doesn't sound toooo different or casualized, but then again some of the stuff like less enemies on screen sound like they would be a major blow to the fans of the game.

I'm playing Gravity Rush Remastered on PS4 right now. I'm guessing you really like the game since you're a big Vita guy. I have to be honest, though, I'm very much iffy on it. Kind of a love hate relationship. The concept is great and some of the challenge missions are quite fun, but mannnnnnnnnn do you have to fight with the controls. More specifically the camera. It sucks too because the concept of an action game with as much crazy platforming as gravity rush is truly unique. But unfortunately those two genres are the ones that rely on great cameras the most.

on 20 April 2019

I am going to try, or at least try to try, to start the horrific process of sorting out my Vita problems. It's a bit of a coincidence....Gravity Rush was going to be my next main Vita game. I had just started Papers Please, and had Gravity Rush out of my cabinet, planning to start it. I chose it because it was both long overdue, and it was already opened. :) It's actually on my trophy list at 0%, but I never started it. Of course....I also have the PS4 version. Also never played it. Wonder if the control is much different on the 2 systems?

Some friends, EDF friends, were trying to sell me on Iron Rain. And one other friend who was kinda down on it has changed his opinion somewhat. But I just started a new Neptunia game today, and am still playing EDF 5 even though I got my precious 100% completion. I think you're correct. Not tooooo different or casualized, but there enemy count in any given mission is def lower. Quite a few other differences as well. But yeah, it still an EDF game at it's core.

No Radiohead recently tbh. :(

This is my newest fav song.

It's a secret. Ssshhhhhh.. You have to follow the link.

on 21 April 2019

Tell me how that goes! I wish I was as attached to a specific console as you (not being funny). I often find myself finishing a game and not knowing what I should play next, my PC, Switch, or PS4.

I finished Gravity Rush. Not great or anything, but I started to enjoy it more towards the end. I actually like the way the story progressed, even if it felt very rush and sort of one note. There's a certain idea that happens towards the middle of the game that's cool.

I'm playing Iconoclasts right now and it's very good! It does have some problems but it's great overall. That is on Vita, don't know if you've played it.

By the way, I know we talked about it a bit, but have you actually played Nier Automata, or were you just making a joke about 2B's ass? : P

Hm, that song is cool! It kind of sounds to me like if you took the singer of Swans and made him a younger indie singer.

I didn't realize I've heard a song from them before ... they made that famous Borderlands song.

on 26 April 2019

Where to start? Ha.

I have yet to play Nier Automata, but 2B has a famous ass. I saw a YT video about it around launch week. Probably from a link here at VGC. Famous!

I discovered Cage The Elephant in 2014. Well, that's when I took note of their name and started listening to more of their tracks. Technically, I heard them first in Borderlands too. :)

I have Iconoclasts on Vita, although I can't remember if I bought it or it's a PS+ game. Cyberdimension Neptunia is growing on me as I've adapted to the combat system, and I always enjoy the writing. The idea that I won't be able to experience new games in this series on PS any more has crept into my head as was playing it a few times, I might be done with Playstation. Aside from my PS+ sub, and maintenance ( new controllers, and the like ), I'm not buying any more games, It's the future I always dreamed of: Thinking all the platforms suck, and choosing the one which sucks the least. A very difficult choice!

on 30 April 2019

Ever played Dead Rising?

Only the demo. Back when i still sometimes played demos. I was impressed, but never got around to trying it before I sold my XB360.

on 07 April 2019

It's really great! But then again I tend to have odd taste in games. Not sure you'd like it, especially now since it's old and not really relevant haha

on 07 April 2019

I had to look it up to see if was even available on current platforms. It's unlikely I'll get to play it unfortunately. There's still some interest, but my word, I'm so far behind. There's so many first party PS4 games I've never tried from this gen. And the slightly mental thing is... I'm thinking my next main game is going to be the remaster of Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. So....It's Capcom!

on 07 April 2019

Lol! Never played Dragon's Dogma. Well .. I played some of it on PC. But I didn't realize at the time that there was a big picture mode that made the PS4 controller feel buttery smooth on Steam (it basically converts Dualshock 4 inputs to be the same inputs as Xbox inputs for ports where the company only added native Xbox controller support/inputs).

I'm having a hard time deciding what my next game is going to be, too. I've actually done a decent job of finishing games since february. I'd like to keep that streak up. Don't know what to pick though.

Yeah! New dev, so it's fingers crossed that the take on it is a good one. I was kinda hoping to be"done" EDF 5 by then, but it looks unlikely, with what I have left to do and DLC 2 on the way.

on 07 March 2019

I didn't even know they were doing extra DLC for EDF 5, hmmm, well shit lol

on 07 March 2019

It's not as good as the DLC for 4.1, but it's still decent. DLC 1 was 15 new missions, all "extra hard", with a couple new enemies that they really spam too much, and new weapons. The new weapons are all high level, and some are kinda op.

Ground Control to Major Cok. Ground Control to Major Cok.

Hello ALA.

on 10 February 2019

Thanks for answering my questions about EDF! I might get it eventually, though I've kind of been a single-player oriented gamer recently (although with all of the games coming out recently, I already have too much to choose between).

By the way, have you ever played Tales of Vesperia? I really enjoyed the Definitive Edition.

I have not. I have only played Symphonia on the Gamecube, I thought it was great! Also own 2 PS3 Tales games and one on Vita, Too lazt to look uo names. Xillia 1 and 2? Annnnd Graces for Vita? Anywhoo, I would like to get Vesperia, but am making a real effort to not buy much more this gen, so we'll see how it shakes out.

on 31 January 2019

How can you say that?!?!?! We still have Ace Combat 7, Resident Evil 2, Kindom Farts III, Devil May Cry 5, Sekiro, Days Gone, Death Stranding, and that's just this year!

on 31 January 2019

The Vita Tales is Tales Of Hearts R. I used the old fashioned search engine.: My brain.

Doooon't ruin my great success by talking about good games that I want. I'm down to buying about 1 game/month since the summer. Going to get it down to 6 total games for 2019.

on 31 January 2019

Alternatively, you could just finish each new game you pick up. That way you aren't technically increasing your backlog. : P

on 01 February 2019

I actually, uncharacteristically, did start both Hitman 2 and EDF 5 shortly after I bought them. Kinda off topic: I may have been a bit harsh on EDF 5 for technical performance. It's really pretty good, especially when considering that abnormally large amount of on screen action it throws at the player.

on 01 February 2019

Hope you're liking Hitman 2. It's a great game. Though honestly .. I wish the updates came out quicker, game actually was a lot more glitch *after the first major patch* than it was on launch, plus the new content took forever to come out.

So what games are you playing to get for the rest of the year?

on 03 February 2019

Oh yeah, Hitman 2 has been great, but since I started EDF 5, I have only played it once. Same thing happened with Hitman 2016 and EDF 4.1. I plan on getting back to Hitman 2 eventually, but it could be a few months.

I'm going through a continuing Vita armageddon, where the impossibly bad somehow gets worse. My entire digital collection has been obliterated. I can't even look at my Vitas right now. So because of that, it ALL EDF 5 for the next several weeks. I absolutely love it!

on 03 February 2019

So how was last years's new Earth Defense Force. Was it good? Disappointing? Can a newbie jump in? Or should I buy this ... seemingly new game? lol

I was disappointed at first, mainly because of it's technical performance. I swear, beyond the use of Boost Mode, which may add 2,3, or 4 FPS, it is not "PS4 Pro Enhanced" in any way, which is odd because I thought such support was mandated by Sony.

However, I've come to love it as much as past EDF games. Once you get past the first bit of grinding needed to properly start a hard mode run, it really takes off. Nit that I had NO fun playing solo easy mode, and doing some online easy and normal too.

There's lot's of missions, 4 classes, tons of upgrades, and some seriously underrated tactical gameplay. It's not uncommon to hear, some reviewers who actually like the series to describe it as "dumb", which is insane. Those peope have most likely not experienced the higher difficulty levels.

You can still jump in, the EDF community tends to stay with these games for a fairly long time long time. My main complaint is still the performance though. EDF 4.1 ran at a better frame rate on the vanilla PS4 than EDF 5 runs on the Pro. It SHOULD be Pro ready at launch. Hoping it gets that patch. I'll be on it till spring.

Ask me anything you want. I love to talk about it.

on 25 January 2019

Oh ok! So is it the kind of game that's mainly multiplayer oriented? Or is it more a singleplayer type game? Can it be fun on singleplayer?

So I'm assuming the most recent game, 5, is the one to start with?

That sucks - I wish that it would run well! I have a Pro too and I only have it for the performance and slight graphical improvements (no 4k TV).

How steep is the learning curve?

Also, should I just wait until the new April game? I'm so confused what it is lol ... it must be a spin-off because it would be weird to release a sequel just 5 months after EDF 5

on 26 January 2019

Most people I know prefer the multi co-op, but single player can still be fun. There are handful mission that are only playable in either single player or online co-op. There are also different rules in the two modes. With multi, the game puts limits on both your available armor and weapon level. The limits can be removed once you, or somebody you know attains 70% game completion. Single player has no such limits.

EDF 5 is probably the best place to start. There are 5 difficulty levels,, and you level yourself up in an RPG-ish manner: Armor points, and RNG loot drops which grant new weapons. Those weapons are then upgraded through the same loot drops. The curve is largely under your control, at least at the beginning.

Iron Rain is from a completely different dev, doing what appears to be their own take on the series.
