You need some good 90's music in your favorites list tbh.

Aside from MJ, Prince, and the Disney Renaissance films. I don't got much from the 90s. Though I am open to suggestions.

Ok well let me ask the question what music from the 90's have you tried? I don't want to recommend generic recs unless I need to : P

on 06 December 2017

Mostly the R & B and Rap stuff. (I've got two older brothers who were born in '91 and '92.)
So, Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Dr. Dre, and those guys.

Though I am curious about the Rock 'n' Roll side, such as Aerosmith, Green Day, U2.

Aerosmith is the only one I'm familiar with.

on 06 December 2017

To be honest I'm not sure I know much in terms of just pure "Rock n' Roll" in the 90's. That kind of died because in the west Counter Cultural movements like Grunge and Alternative Rock were born. Also not the biggest fan of U2 or Greenday, U2's most noteworthy stuff is in the 80's though besides Achtung Baby which has a lot of great songs and is from the 90's. Greenday's Dookie is great but that's their only album I've heard. The vocals can be seen as annoying but the music is obnoxious in the best way possible, very fun album.

My experitse is mostly limited to Grunge/Alternative/Indie and Experimental Rock. So here's what my personal recs would be:

I think something that would be up your allie if you want more basic rock in a poppy sense is Jeff Buckley's Grace. It's a beautiful alternative rock album inspired by Soul and classical music and it's very poppy and excessible while being very well written. His version of Hallelujah is the best, better than Shrek's : P

Also if you like hip hop have you ever tried Mezzanine by Massive Attack. It's a dark electronic based album with rap(not in all songs but still) it's pretty much a masterpiece, takes a bit of time to get into but it's great.

Also do you like Pink Floyd? I assume you've tried Radiohead if so?

on 06 December 2017

Jeff Buckey's Grace, huh?
Sounds like it's quite a good listen.
With Pink Floyd, I've listened to a few tracks from Dark Side of the Moon, pretty enjoyable. But I haven't pursued any of their music beyond that. And I haven't listened to Radiohead.

on 06 December 2017

Wow! Pink Floyd is great. As pretentious as their fans can be they are a really easy listen too(for the most part). I'd really recommend listening to Dark Side of the Moon/Wish You Were Here/Animals. All are great conceptually heavy albums. The Wall kind of sucks though.

Radiohead is basically the most important band in the 90's to listen to i'd say. At least as far as Rock goes. They first started out as these grunge wannabes but quickly became one of the more experimental bands in modern music. The easiest album to start with is The Bends, it's like a mix of rock with some experimentation. But the best album they made in the 90's was by far Ok Computer, largely considered by many to be one of the best albums ever.

Goku for Smash 5? I say YES!

in Nintendo Discussion 6 hours ago

Jumpin said: Why not Chrono? At least he’s a similar looking video game character and not some obscure Japanimation character from the 60s or 70s. Obscure (adj.):1. not discovered or known about; uncertain.2. not clearly expressed or easily understood.3. not important or well known.4. hard to make out or define; vague. Out of the two, Chrono is the one...

I'd much rather see Mickey Mouse than Goku. Just so my inner 5 year old can finally see Mickey and Mario meeting face to face....
