It's impossible for me to properly assess what my end take will be at this early stage, but so far, about six hours in, I really like Death Stranding! I've been hearing that the story really picks up about ten hours in, but it's already gotten pretty interesting to me!
If slow-paced game play really bothers you then this game may not be for you, at least based on what I've played of it so far. The tedium of it seems to be part of the point though, not something accidental, and that's what has enabled me to power through points of frustration easily so far. It's super easy to see that this game is from the heart. I'll probably have more to say about it when I'm further along.
