No. That definition is deeply flaughed. A 6 year old kid can't play the role of a maniacal serial killer. He can try, but he would fail miserably. And that's basically him playing something he is not. So your point of view of imvalin.

The goal of an actor is to play a role effectively and convincingly. And to do so requires actor to be the same gender, race, and age of the character. A 6"4 black dude with six packs can't play a teenage Asian school girl no matter how good an actor he is.

Tell that to robert downy junior. That man played one hell of a convincing black man in Tropic thunder. Anyway, your argument goes out the window when you take todays level of technology into account. Andy serckus is one of the best actors on screen and rarely plays the vision of himself.

Back on point. Scarlett Johansson is a women who can easily be made to look androgynous so she fits perfectly for the role, more qualified than any trans actress and will bring in more money, and on top of that is already creating free advertising for the film.

Also, as someone mentioned in the comments above, that chick who transistioned in the Ethan Hawk sci fi film should put this whole argument to rest, it's little more than whingeing for the sake of it.

No he doesn't play a black man. He plays a white man playing the role of a black man, go watch the movie.
