So

Cel Shaded graphics = kiddie

Realistic graphics = adult??.

Thats a pretty bad way of looking at it since art direction does not influance how mature a game is..

No. It's not the only influence, but it does factor in.

Cel Shaded = possibly likable by all

Realistic = less liked by kids, more so liked by adults

This is by no means a mathematical formula, but just ask yourself, why didn't NiN make that realistic Zelda game they showed off once with the spider? There are potentially many reasons, but graphics style most certainly played a factor.

NiN's main audience is kids. Sure people of all ages like NiN, and they have great games for everyone, but their core is kids. Always has been, always will be. Kids are much less mature than adults (most of them anyway). Selling a graphically realistic version of Zelda may not reach as broad an audience, and may not sell near as well as a more cartoony version, so NiN uses styles like cel shaded instead. Which is fine because it looks great and is different than the norm, and has done well for games like Zelda.

If realistic graphics don't have anything to do with the maturity of a game, then why didn't they make the new Resident Evil game look like Mario?
