inflation is only a way to compare film releases from different eras. You dont compare console's from different gens and adjust for inflation, or books, or cars, or really anything to be honest. I find it silly films are only put up against this silly measure.

We don't compare income for games though. We compare units sold... which spans generations. When people celebrate gross for movies, it's completely fictitious. In order to truly be "number 1", you have to adjust for inflation.

Nobody tracks the ticket counts for movies thats the issue. You track the money which is what you do in just about every sector of buisness. You could make the counter arguement with inflation that their was much fewer blockbusters or films in general in those eras how about we adjust them and put them in todays market? The only barometer we have for films is their revenue. Again you dont adjust anything else for inflation only films and weathiest people ever.
