Well I was happy with 7 but suddenly Homegroup sharing stopped working, then 80% of my files couldn't be copied from one HDD to another (which didn't make much sense).
Got myself Windows 8 and downloaded the 8.1 Preview and everything worked again just fine. (Though maybe a new Windows 7 install would've done the same. Idk.)
But seriously it has the exact same content as 7 and added the optional Metro part with apps. Obviously more useful for portable purposes but definitely not redundant.
