I am here with my 2nd prediction of the year!
I predict that Pikmin will become a bigger franchise for Nintendo than Metroid with the Wii U. The best selling Wii U Pikmin will outsell the best selling Wii U Metroid. If they both have the same # of games, we can count their combined sales. (Pikmin 3 + Pikmin 4 > Metroid U + Metroid U 2)
I don't exactly understand why people count Metroid as a main Nintendo franchise. IMO, Kirby, Animal Crossing, Paper Mario, and many others are bigger and more important to Nintendo. On the other hand, Pikmin isn't really taken to seriously and people like to dismiss it a lot.
Pikmin hasn't had a game in nearly a decade and just like Prime did for Metroid, I believe Pikmin 3 will boost the Pikmin franchise to new popularity.
