Special relativity alows it :P
OT, this is the classic time paradox. There is no way to know what will happen, the universe might implode for all we know. Most theoretical physicits see this as general and special relativity being flawed and incomplete theories for allowing such a paradox. Others patch the theory with the parallell universe hypothesis, that says that if you travel through time, you'll end up in a different universe, and thus your old self is still allowed to exist.
