I think the WiiU should have at least outperformed the 360. The COD DF comparison test is dissappointing, but that may just be the fact that it wasn't optimized, but still this shouldn't even be a contest... the xbox360 is 7 years old.
However, had the U at least shown better performance than last gen consoles, Reggie would be absolutely right, it's the games ultimately that sell the product. However, it's not good to under-offer with sub-par hardware.
Was it an engineering fail? It doesn't seem like it, the U's architecture seems highly thought out. Are we judging it too soon? I sure hope so. In the end, if it is weaker than the 360, that is no good, even with the added value of the pad. Might as well take a bit more time to refine it while offering more Wii games, than offering a console prematurely that fails to be future proof.
