@brainbox, i have to say Ai is much better this gen then in the past. I cant remember a game in the past where i could ever even trust the ai to shoot at a target, with gears i got that, though from what ive seen most people dont play gear like it was intended its designed to be a very slow paced methodical movement type of battles, and if you charge in you may live, but the ai is not programed to survive that, nor will you live on the hardest settings.
you are right its still not perfect, but its a hell of a lot more engaging than in the past. Take rainbow six vegas 2, the enemy Ai is smart enough to engage you with cover fire while teammates look for a way to sweep around. the restrictive level design hinders it. and you can see that they have trouble dealing with 4 players, but its a smarter thiking ai then in prior games which is what was promised.
the question of Ai has a lot to do with how well one can program and think through all the different actions and results of those actions, which i would say we are still in the adolescence of
i would like to say that i hope for more options to go lone wolf even if it makes the game harder. and even more importantly letting team mates die if you want and it effecting the story path. if dom dies he dies you dont get his missions you have to go another way.
though all of this could be avoided in fps, if it was more free roaming and you got to choose and pick objectives as you went along skipping part if you felt like it. more along the lines of mercs 1 game play where you could get away with doing almost none of the core story and finnish. enhance this idea with teammates who can die, and multiple ways out of a map, and a game that is maybe 4 or 5 maps like the gta size map for fps battles.... would be alot of fun, though something like that will most likly take till next gen, or be on the computer first
