If you uderstand Trump, then you realize his first offer is never his final offer, so I doubt the executive order comment will bother his supporters, tho maybe a negative effect on undecideds who really care about politics.

regardless its not a comparable situation... any reasonable person understands that crime will always be present in a free society but we have no indications yet that trump will do this and legal experts so far have stated that he cannot do it so...

I agree, although this is from an outsiders' view. I can't trust anything Trump does to be even remotely beneficial to the other party, which worries me seeing as my government seems looks like it put a lot on the line with a potential trade deal with the US.

Case in point - Canada's dairy industry. Trump goes all protectionist and 'America first' in all his trade policies, but the moment he encounters another country doing something even vaguely similar in defence of their industries it is 'so unfair'.
