Forums - General Discussion - MORE CO-OP Games Please!

Yeah. I prefer same console co-op, which is why I am looking forward to UC and now Ghosts on rail shooters for the Wii. Just hope its as enjoyable as arcade.

I'm looking for the same thing -- coop on the SAME computer. I know there is a lot of co-op online on the 360, but I don't want to do it online, I want to play with others in my household.

looks like we are alone, and there arent too many co-ops out there, do you agree with me thougth, that companies would make more money with co-ops, think about how cool RE4 would be as a co-op????

I guess the days of great co-ops is dead.  Split screen or same screen, I don't care -- I just want to play with friends on the same machine.  Contra 3 co-op ruled on the SNES.

If you have a PS2, the co-op in Lord of the Rings, ROTK is pretty good, if you are into hack-n-slash action rpgs.  X men legends is OK, but it gets repetitive pretty quick.  Marvel UA isn't too bad -- worth a look.  Dynasty warriors 4 is kind of cool if you don't mind some fairly heavy button mashing. (that goes the same for the samurai warriors games).

But you see, you agree with me, alot of people agree, so my question.WHY ARENT DEVELOPERS LISTENING, I THINK THEY WOULD MAKE A BUNDLE.just take time to make a long game using all the memory available for great replay value and it will sell!!!

Sorry I didn't get back soon. Yes, EVERY game I listed is split-screen co-op throughout the ENTIRE game. Thats what makes the 360 so fun. EDF2017 is offline co-op only. Boy, its a blast. GRAW 1 & 2 have offline co-op modes, but no full campaign. You can do upto 4 player co-op missions (I've done 3p co-op on GRAW 1 and it was fun. You & upto 3 friends on split-screen versus upto 100 terrotists). Gears of War is 2p co-op through the entire game split-screen. GOW is a good game on SP, but Co-Op with a real life bud besides you is AMAZING. The Outfit is 2p co-op on all missions as well. All of these games infer huge bonuses to you playing with someone smart beside you. Also, there are tons of games that have online co-op with them. Crackdown would be a quick game that came to mind. PDZ has split-screen co-op as well throguh all missions as well, I believe.

You're forgetting Halo 3!!

I was just reffering to games I've played, not games that are upcoming. You can add Army of Two to the list as well - it looks like a great 2 player game.

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I heard Saints Row 2 may be co-op...watch out GTA

the 1st saints row was co op so the 2nd prob will be too

 Not same screen, though.

And PD0 was crap, co-op or not.

GoW and Halo co-ops are probably the best, even if it doesn't make sense that there are two Master Chiefs.

I too long for good co-op games, and not just games that mean "more players = more firepower". I want actual strategies revolving around players assuming different roles in a team and making it happen, and I don't just mean "this guy can diffuse bombs so let him through" types of situations. I want a game which lets players choose their roles and preferences and works with those.

Though, such a thing may be impossible to find right now so I'd need to develop those kinds of games myself.

"I mean, c'mon, Viva Pinata, a game with massive marketing, didn't sell worth a damn to the "sophisticated" 360 audience, despite near-universal praise--is that a sign that 360 owners are a bunch of casual ignoramuses that can't get their heads around a 'gardening' sim? Of course not. So let's please stop trying to micro-analyze one game out of hundreds and using it as the poster child for why good, non-1st party, games can't sell on Wii. (Everyone frequenting this site knows this is nonsense, and yet some of you just can't let it go because it's the only scab you have left to pick at after all your other "Wii will phail1!!1" straw men arguments have been put to the torch.)" - exindguy on Boom Blocks

Yeah I really like split-screen offline co-op as I like playing with my brother. I hear RSV has a complete co-op campaign, and I know Resistance does. I'm really looking forward to Army of Two, a game based around co-op. I don't get why they dont just add that extra bit into the main capaign mode. I have no problem with games that create a different campaign, if it's the same length. What I don't like is where they effectively make arena co-op battle, like Star Wars Episode III, those seem like they were chucked in at the last minute. Smash_Brother, I agree with you in every way (although what is PD0?) making part of a team with your buddie. Although I would like the computer to fill out your squad, I would also prefer a squad of around 16, to make it really feel like an epic battle.
