Maybe because it has to do with this site being about sales and trying to get them as accurate as possible. Just a thought.

He's talking about physical bundles that have been around for some time, it happens in every reach related thread, someone makes a comment like "it's obviously overtracked, since NPD has it lower"

According to VGC Revelations sold 1.4 million on the 360 alone and NPD has Revelations at 1.26 million both versions... And my Uncharted 3 bundle sales are just an estimate but it's higher than what VGC is showing for sure. That's almost certain.
are the numbers from the NPD going to be reflected in Adjustments for games?
For example, overestimation of Assassin Creeds and underestimation of MW3?
How much will PS3 sell in December? 1.5m?
