Because they didn't. The ps3 decreased on a weekly basis , hense the less than 250k Gaf estimate. I bet that the wii outsold the ps3 in October and the ps3 real number is really close to 200k and that's why sony put out an embarassing PR statement.

PS3 - 250k

Wii - 232k

Thank you!

Hmm, so PS3 did post slightly higher average weekly increases, but something like 500 units. Was it 250k dead on?

Wii goes from 51k weekly average in Sep to 58k weekly average in Oct.

I would assume there's some rounding going on and PS3 is dead on flat. Seriously, what are the odds of that?

Possibly, still good going for PS3.

Does anyone know what Wii got this October last year for NPD?

It'll depend on if DKCR can act like a NSMB Wii for Wii

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

More SW numbers.

Tony Hawk Shred : 3,000
DJ Hero 2 : 59,000
MOH: a bit more than 1M
EA MMA: 45,000
NBA 2K11 : 1.15M (doubled it sales from last year)

And a Wii YOY comparison.

Wii Oct 08 - 803,000
Wii Oct 09 - 506,900
Wii Oct 10 - 232,000

Almost a 40% decline from 2008 to 2009 and almost 55% from 2009 to 2010. An extremely worrying trend to say the least.
