Forums - Sony Discussion - Prediction Edge will give Heavy rain a 7/10.

Edge just gave 7 to HR. These guys are so predictable...

AAA PS3 exclusive = 7 from Edge, mostly. (so once again, 2 points below Meta, as usual).

A big LOL @  people who still think they're not 360 biased, while every month they get another proof Edge is in fact the biggest 360 fanboy magazine on Earth.

Really?  Oh well, guess the OP was right with his prediction then.

Just played the demo and I'm torn.  I though the look was fantstic, the writing seemed good, it never had that slight pause you get in most games like this when the game changes character's response to your input which I thought was great, the tone is consistent and great (if you like grim) but I'm just not sure about the controls.  The QTEs worked very well, perhaps the best I've experienced, but I just couldn't help feeling there must be a better control scheme for this.

One thing that did impress me was the fight in the demo.  I played it a few times, sometimes throwing moves, othertimes not, and the fight always lfowed no matter what, and never had that strange pause I expect with something like this, plus you actually show different visual damage as a character depending upon how the fight went.

I'll be getting this, but I'm still going to approach it with a little caution, as I'm still not sold on the controls.

Loved the FBI investigation glasses though.  I want a pair of those.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Just to give you the proof Edge is in fact 360 biased, here are the numbers :

Game / Edge rating / Meta (12/02/10) / Difference between Edge and Meta

Main 360 console exclusives :

Fable 2 / 90 / 89 / +1
Forza 2 / 90 / 90 / 0
Forza 3 / 90 / 92 / -2
Gears of War / 80 / 94 / -14
Gears of War 2 / 90 / 93 / -3
Halo 3 / 100 / 94 / +6
Halo 3 ODST / 90 / 83 / +7
Mass Effect / 70 / 91 / -21
Mass Effect 2 / 90 / 96 / -6
Left 4 Dead / 90 / 89 / +1
Left 4 Dead 2 / 90 / 89 / +1

Total (11 games) : -30 points
Average -2.73 / game

Main PS3 exclusives :

MGS4 / 80 / 94 / -14
Ratchet ToD / 80 / 89 / -9
Ratchet ACiT / 70 / 87 / -17
Resistance / 70 / 86 / -16
Resistance 2 / 60 / 87 / -27
Killzone 2 / 70 / 91 / -21
Valkyria Chr. / 70 / 86 / -16
Disgaea 3 / 80 / 78 / +2
Heavy Rain / 70 / 89 / -19
Uncharted / 80 / 88 / -8
Uncharted 2 / 90 / 96 / -6
Demon's Souls / 90 / 89 / +1
LittleBigPlanet / 100 / 95 / +5
Wipeout HD / 80 / 87 / -7
Flower / 70 / 87 / -17
Infamous / 70 / 85 / -15

Total (16 games) : -184 points !!!
Average -11.5 / game

So it's around 10 points difference in AVERAGE between a PS3 exclusive and a PC/360 console exclusive, which is huge and mathematically (statistically) impossible unless they're 360 biased or being 360 fanboys.

The other explanation would be they favor the shooter / FPS genre dominating on 360 (6 on 11 games reviewed), but then again, games like Resistance, Resistance 2, Killzone 2 wouldn't have been rated so much under their Meta then, so this explanation is wrong.

Conclusion : Edge is strongly 360 biased.

Still dunno who the fuck edge is anyway, Eurogamer are the tough guys.

so predicatable...lol @ edge not being biased.

The fact they gave Halo 3 (aka Halo 2.5) a perfect score should be proof enough lol...
