Forums - Sony - MAG user scores significantly better than review scores

Metacritic: Reviews - 77, Users - 84. http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps3/mag

There are plenty of games where users give a game better socres than the reviewers. There are also lots where users rate a game significantly lower. It is nice to know that users are liking this ambitious game more than the reviewers.

Gaming needs developers to be willing to take risks. Sure MAG isn't a risk when it comes to genre, because FPS is a very popular genre, but the game takes plenty of risks in other ways.

I'll probably never buy or play this game because FPS is not my scene. But I would like this game to do well because of the sort of new things it's attempting to do. Lets hope the PSN community plays it the way it's intended.

Wow, that's a Massive Aggregate Gap!!!

Not surprising.

This game isn't for everyone. The people who it's for, probably like it very much.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

I don't see the significance. Just Dance got much better user reviews than critic reviews. Most Adam Sandler movies do. Not saying that MAG is comparable to either of those, it's just that if you think critic reviews are meaningless, you'd be a hypocrite to not hold the same opinion for user reviews.

Probably because Reviewers take into account all the game, design and qualitly

Gamers just say screw it, its a good game that isn't a COD clone

No....just no.....

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!

Your point? I'd hardly put much stock in the user reviews on a site like Metacritic. Since sites like that are usually going to house fanboy battles (low ratings among other things), I see no need to care about their average user score.

Pretty much this.

If fans can't tout about the high metacritic score, they're going to find some other thing that they can brag about or bring controversy.

Nothing really to see here.
