I just bought PS3 today, I was wondering what HDMI and Component Cables I should get for the better picture quality. Also, if i have a wireless broadband router will that work for the PS3 online?

Technically it's been said on many sites the cheap generic HDMI cables work just as well as the 50-80 dollar ones. As for the wireless router, I *believe* it recommends a certain channel, which I believe are the same as the wii, wireless channels 2 or 11, which you would setup on your wireless router itself. Check your manual for more info.

And in your case, if you have HDMI, stick with it - component is analog so simply by converting the digital signal to audio you are going to have some degree of signal loss.
