Defending someone in mafia doesn't mean getting on a soap box and proclaiming they're innocent.  There are plenty of other ways to defend someone.  When you repeatedly say that someone is not suspicious and not worthy of being lynched, that's defending them.

Right now no one should be defending anyone because none of know anyone's alignment but our own... except for the mafia.  It's in the mafia's best interest to defend each other (so they win) and townsfolk (to look pro-town when the person flips town) so anyone consistently trying to defend others or not finding someone suspicious like you tends to be mafia.

You're not familiar with my presence in games so I'll give you the run down.  I'm always investigated Night 1 or Night 2 (for good reason).  Always.  Which means the Cop appears on Day 2 or Day 3 and the Doctor stops protecting me at that time.  Basically I live until the Cop roleclaims.

And yes, there is a way this game should be played.  Mafia is a game of the informed minority versus the uninformed majority.  In traditional mafia, the day game is more involved than the night game.  Lots of discussion, accusations, and other good stuff.  It feels like half the players in this game are lurking though and many of the ones that are active aren't actually scumhunting.

Also, now is a good time to begin:  I'd like the Doctor to protect me tonight.

none of that is defending him, its saying I didnt think we have enough reason to lynch him, I have now voted for him as he is my top suspect atm, so have your pound of flesh, I hope you people are right, but hey dont blame me if he isnt scum.

Exactly, but you two wont give up until he is lynched, so what is the point in fighting it then?  I gave my reasoning as to why this is a stupid idea and you 2 seemed to ignore since you are hell bent on lynching someone on the first night with very little evidence.
