No, why 8.9m? The gap is at 5.9m at the moment, including all the recent adjustments.

Nice thread... but I expect more adjustments after Feb 4 with Sony shipment sales.

For exemple... if Sony release 34M for PS3 LTD then VGC is undertracking it... 3M on shelves is not real.

Xbox 360 will catch up with sales on the PS3.

i am hoping you are right. not to mentionthere were some shortages in NA, if there are so many PS3's lying around how come people are complaining about shortages??

More adjustements are indeed likely, I believe. But let's wait and see...

I don't think that weekly updates are necessary on the main site either. One detailed article per month is enough IMO. I am perfectly happy like this. This thread wasn't created in order to complain. ;)

4 weeks and the PS3 has outsold the 360 by an average of 52k per week. PS3 should be able to outsell the 360 by 3 million this year providing the sales rate remains constant and nothing really changes.

PS3/360 Gap to be around 3 million by the end of 2010.

However I am certain there will be a lot of twists and turns this year which will change things so the gap could be anywhere between 2 million and 5 million in favour of the 360 over the PS3.

oh if it gets as close as 2mil then there shall be some major adjustments to be made, just joking lol

Doub it, Sony has a really good lineup this year just as they did last year, it seems people are starting to get the message!

Unlike last year, Microsoft has a pretty great (console) exclusive lineup this year too though.  Natal, Halo Reach, Crackdown 2, Fable III, Alan Wake, Mass Effect 2, Monster Hunter Frontier, Kingdom Under Fire II, Ninety-Nine Nights II and (probably) Gears of War 3.   Plus it's netting choice exclusive content for a lot of multiplatform titles (Lost Planet 2, Super Street Fighter IV, etc) and still getting "superior versions" in a lot of cases (like Bayonetta recently).
