I liked XIII's one much much much more.

It was more fun, was great to watch & imo the simplified level of strategy added more fun to it.

Also I agree the fanfare in XIII is AWESOME!

yeah FFXII was much harder than FFXIII is, i have still had a game over a few times but only because of a stupid mistake like not watching the HP bar or something and forgetting to heal but not because it was too difficult unlike in FFXII and FFX where some bosses and even some fiends where strangely difficult.

FFXII was difficult to the point where I forced myself to grind for hours at a time.  This was a big turn off for me even though the story concepts were interesting and the battle system itself was great.

same it took me ages to finish it, and lots and lots of grinding and once i finished it i stopped playing it due to this, although i think i may go back and play it again after i play FFXIII to death 

Also, my FFXII file was erase due to corruption and after about 40 hours of play which a lot of was spent grinding.  The characters level way to slowly after about level 10.

chpt 8 10/10 (another amazing chapter!)
chpt 9 9.2/10 (some boring parts but mostly very nice parts ^^)
chpt 10 9.2/10

the game really gets much better after the first 10 hours
FF13 is now my nr. 5 best final fantasy and i think it will stay that position ;)

I thought the same (after chapter 7/8 it was 3rd..permanet 3rd for me)

but chapter 11 should blow you away.

it blew me away & it managed to shift up 1 more place!

thats what chapter 7 did for me it was just amazing, its now 3rd for me :) after FFX and FFVI (respectively) and i think it could go up to 2nd after i finish it
