Hmm. X360 is region locked. That PS3 games have no region codes is one of the best things on PS3. Hopefully they will keep this philosophy next gen.


I dont think thats relevant at best thats 50k additional sales for PS3. Nothing will change. FF13 should be a Ps3 exclusive anyway.

with all the piracy in Asian markets, it's probably a good thing.
HOWEVER i do think it sucks overall, they still would have been good for another 100-200k units moved though, even with the piracy.
Of course it mostly sucks for the 360 owners over there

the PS3 is not completely region free.

The games are, but sometimes the DLC just aint.

Where have you downloaded the DLC ? And where do you live ? How should one know that the DLC is not region free ? Is all DLC not region free ?What is this for a stupid decision ? First they make the games region free but not the DLC ? I download my stuff mostly in UK but not everything is released in Europe.

NA & EU contain Africa,Oceania,Middle East,Asia.You know they are all different continents.and by EU means Europe not like at VGC where we take EU and other countries as OTHER

This is one of the stupidest anti-360 thread I've read on this site.

Do you know how many region codes xboxs have? They have 3 region codes, JAP-NTSC, PAL-EUR, USA-NTSC. Contents can be locked only on those three codes. Africa, Australia, South America etc, falls under one of those code and let me tell you, for sure they don't fall under JAP-NTSC. Do I have to explain the rest or can you do the math?

went on holiday to Singapore

Got games including DA:o.

game ran fine, but wouldn't let me get the DLC codes I'd claimed until I signed in with a SG PSN account.

oh it would let be buy the DLC and install it, but the game won't register it's existance.

Check the bioware/DA:o PS3 support forums for confirmation of this problem if you want

I normally use the South African PSN (semi-linked to EU one) and I live/work in Tanzania.

DLC from any region other than Singapore just won't work with DA:o

like I said, I don't know if this is a PSN thing or specifically for EA/DA:o

Now I've had to go through dodgy means to be able to buy from SG PSN.

This news is true. In my place (Taiwan), Microsoft Taiwan first said that they would try to talk with SE for a traditional Chinese

version on 360 right after SE said FFXIII would go multi-platform. And then, they said they'll publish the English version. But

a few hours later, they changed their word that SE told them 360 version of FFXIII will be release in EU and NA but not mentioned

about releasing it in Asia (Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Hong Kong..etc...)

And in game releasing schedule 2010 for 360...there's no FFXIII...

So I think SE had made a deal with MS for releasing FFXIII in EU and NA, but also made a deal with Sony for keeping it exclusive on

PS3 in Japan and Asia. 

Many 360 users in Taiwan are pretty upset for this...Some of them might import NA ver. of 360 and NA ver. of FFXIII.

Some of them are waiting for EU ver. since some EU games don't have region code problem, FFXIII might has some chance.

But most of them I think...will crack their machine for getting rid of region code problem and import NA ver. or get a pirate copy.....
