In the local (Kansas City Area) ads for this weekend Toys R Us had a rediculous offer. They were giving out $25 gift cards with the purchase of Super Mario Galaxy in the first week of release! I'm expecting Toys R Us stores in the area to sell out in the first day.

Has anyone else seen offers of this type in their area???

No.. I heard about this offer on the internet (probably here) but the employees at my local Toys R' Us (Newport News, VA, USA) told me that no such offer existed :( I was all excited, too. Ah well.. its only $25 and I already have it reserved at GameStop.

Still, this will do a lot to increase sales..

I took advantage of this deal today. The Toys R Us here in Portland, OR recieved their SMG copies at about 8:55 A.M. I got to the store at about 9:40 A.M., and it looked like they had about 10 copies left for sale (non-preordered).

We were able to use the certificate right away, and got some gifts for some of my Sister-in-laws kids; they have birthdays coming up soon.

This is at least the 3rd thread on the subject on this site... Many people are saving the $25 gift card for next week when toys-r-us has a buy two wii games get one free...
