Mass Effect 2 has a greater buzz behind it now than Uncharted 2 did.  It is also likely to get more advertising.  However, it is not released during the holiday season.  Secondarily, we are too far along for it to move too many consoles.  I would say there is a chance for a bump as much as Uncharted 2, but like Uncharted 2, it isn't noticable long-germ. 

Gran Turismo would move consoles, if people who follow the series STILL haven't bought a PS3 yet.  As for God of War III, why?  Again, for similar reasons as Gran Turismo, but how big of a bump does someone expect to see?  Anyone see several million people buying a PS3 just to play God of War III, if they haven't played God of War prior and don't own a PS3?

Almost all games generate a few sales and move consoles.  A few isn't what is interest in regards to moving consoles.  What counds is changes in system sales in relation to other consoles.  Does a particular game cause someone to buy one console over another one?  If so, then that is selling consoles that counts.

Not really. It may sell a few but I don't think you will see a huge increase in xbox 360 sales this week or next week. I doubt 360 sales will be higher than ps3 sales due to people buying the 360 for Mass Effect 2.

Also, it's available on pc, so it's not like you have to own a 360 in order to play the game.

I'm going with no, even though I think it will cause an uptick in 360 sales for the week. I just don't think the uptick will be so substantial that it will impress people at the HW boosting effect it produces. If you want to call a game a HW seller, or even HW spiker, you've got to give HW sales a fairly hefty push.

Since there's been a comparison, Uncharted 2 didn't do PS3 any favours except in the Americas, where it gave PS3 a fairly nice 27K (34%) boost. On a worldwide basis though Uncharted 2 couldn't be called a HW mover even on it's release week. Of course PS3 was already selling better than it had all year when Uncharted 2 came out so there wasn't much room for Uncharted 2 to generate further demand. I'd be very surprised at a 30% boost from ME2.

I bought Mass Effect2 on launch and there where like 15 other people waiting at midnight to get a copy at Gamespot with me!!

If this game doesnt push 360 units I dont know what will

PC version seems to be selling a lot, it's in the top sellers in every major digital store.
