Bioware: Mass effect 2 will sell 360 hardware. Agree or disagree?!

I'm with 'em! Yes. 102 47.22%

Err...no! No. 114 52.78%

Total:216

Is anyone else tired of the "people who want xx game already have xx console because of xx's prequel" argument?

I mean do you people not realize that can be said about every freaking game and yet still game sequels cause hardware boosts? Mass Effect came early on in the cycle. There have been many more people get 360s since then that never even played the first one, and i'm sure this will cause a mild bump. Maybe not to the level of UC2, but I bet 30k isn't too unreasonable.

If this was the first in the series on the 360 then yes, it would move a good bit of hardware. Being a sequel of a franchise already on the system will not move many systems. If they bundled it with the first one (and charged a few bucks extra or whatever) then I could see this happening.

Ill be enjoying it on my PC (and cursing NO REAL CONTROLLER SUPPORT!) Would be great playing this with my ps3 controller on my pc :)

Haha. I was gonna do PC as well with 3D vision... But that killed it for me.

Its called Xpadder.  Easy to map the 360 controller layout for games that don't officially support it

I shall try this...and if it works you will be a hero amongst men.

^ It took me a while to figure it out, but there are forums and things with directions on how to do everything. Worked like a charm once I figured everything out!  I was even able to use it in a game like CoD4 so a game like Mass Effect would be even easier, maybe?

If it does sell hardware, it won't be much to really make a difference anyway.

Odd. Future. Wolf. Gang. Kill. Em. All. OFWGKTA Don't give a fuck!

Fuck Steve Harvey. FREE EARL!

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be the GREATEST game EVER made!!!

I'd take a bullet for Square-Enix!

I think not. Because we have a version on PC.

maybe a little bit... Wanting to load this whole game onto my HD caused me to finally buy a 250gb hd and transfer cable online for my 360.

Where did you get a 250gb hard drive?  EBay?

I got it here:

http://www.ioffer.com/i/250GB-HDD-Hard-Drive-for-Xbox-360-data-transfer-Cable-131049339?source=eisi&sq=250GB+HDD+Hard+Drive+for+Xbox+360+%2B+data+transfer+Cable

after I ordered it, I noticed that it was coming from China, so it might be shady... I hope not.

It is most likely user made and not made by MS. Which is fine... the only thing missing will be the ability to play Xbox1 games as it won't have the proper emulation software on the drive. there were reports that MS was banning these home made hard drives on xbox live but i don't think its a big risk...

If you want to connect to Live, a non-MS licensed HD will have issues.  You are gauranteed of that.

Sure, game sequels cause a hardware boost but it is always just a small fraction what a new game boosts. Overall (not talking about just 1 week but lifetime boost) ME2 won't probably have even 30% of the hardware boost which ME1 had. Sequels on the same console never boosts sales even half as much as the prequel so, for a sequel, 30% of the original is a very good boost. This also applies all other sequels on the same console including UC2. UC1 hardware boost just happened in a very long time frame but in reality UC1 had much bigger lifetime hardware boost than UC2 (latest sales boost is caused by slim model, not UC2). Most people just notice that 1 week hardware boost which is actually not important.

Sequels on the same console generally have only 1 week of hardware boost and next week sales are down to almost same levels as before. While with first games hardware boost may last for several months. If the first game is actually good of course.
