Forums - Sony - So here's what I think of the PS3

Damn, I can't wait to get a PS3!

I better get the backwards compatible one too, so all the girls and their silly "JRPGs" can come over to my house and we can.....play videogames...

btw did you try and Blu-ray movies? if not I recommend ratatouille, 300, casino royale, and kingdom of heaven.

I'm have some coming through Netflix (forget which ones-- I know Ratatouille is somewhere on my list though). I'm not using the HDMI cables so don't think I can do upscaling for my DVD's (assume that's the case). I tried the different options and it still only played them in 480p (or 480i, don't remember, just remember the 480 part). -edit- Just looked at my queue, Ocean's Thirteen is my next BR movie.

yea you need an HDMI cable to upscale DVDs but if you have component you can play BR Movies in 1080i (1080p maybe idk, my TV only does 720p/1080i)

I don't know, I've heard somebody claim that you can do 1080p with component, but I think you can only do 1080i. The PS3 manual only lists component up to 1080i and our TV at home that can do 1080p only lists the component input ports up to 1080i.

I know for a fact you can do 1080p through component. I tried it on my 360 to my projector, but my projector couldn't do it.

Wow, that was one of the worst reviews of any system I've read here.
I won't elaborate (Obviously nothing will change you mind), but in all honesty it was just plain biased, and not worth anyone's time.
You spoke some truth, the lack of HD cables is annoying/as well as short USB, and the PS Store (While not as bad as you make it out to be) does need plenty of work.

Oh, and I'm still confused people are trying to make the Uncharted demo look bad. It's alright for the PS3 to have a great game, seriously. I can see if you didn't enjoy it (Which is personal opinion, and totally understandable), but the complaints you listed were totally insignificant (You didn't like getting shot while in the middle of a melee fight? How's that a fault?).

Well that is a bit of an AI flaw.  No one shoots at someone when they're in a Melee fight in real life.  You've got about as good a shot as hitting your own guy as you do the guy your aiming at.

My problem with the melee is that you start melee and the game zooms in and forces you into a fight and stay there (think it does at least) while people are shooting at you. I'd much rather just have a run by melee rather than be forced to sit there and fight. That's mainly just a personal preference and isn't something I would actually knock the game down points for (yet-- need more experience with it if I was to), not like the giving me a message right when someone starts firing at me without warning.

Dang ... that's probably the only way I am getting a PS3 at the moment ... and I am only getting the 60gb one - for the BC.

I bought my 60GB PS3 used and I'm satisfied. It works flawless, no problems and I have a Gamestop 1-year warranty. Buying used isn't bad.

@twesterm review

I agree, on all points except the games. The PS3 has some decent software now. So Heavenly Sword is good. Your review is similar to mines: http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=9741

Unless, ofcourse those people happen to be pirates that's sole mission is to kill their target. I'm pretty sure they would not care about anyone but themselves and getting paid.

Dude sell your ps3. Why buy a system that your already going to hate. You don't appreciate much. All I read was ps3 is shit, everything about it is shit... blah blah.

Even if I got a 360 or a wii I could appreciate their sytem. I think you have offended a great system, that your not worthy of. Worst review. BIAS BIAS and BIAS. Go play your Wii!

  Unleash The Beast!

End of 2011 Sales: Wii = 90mil, 360 = 61mil, PS3= 60mil

Wow, you really ripped on the PS3. Its ok to be biased I guess, I am too. My bias comes from what happend to me though. I camped the Wii for 8 hours at WalMart and it couldn't connect online so it had to sent it in to be refurbished. Also, it lacks good games. My 360 was lot #725 from Amazon.com and it red ringed on me out of the box, so I returned it for full credit (thank you Amazon.). My PS3 has worked great since day 1, has most of the new games coming to the 360 and plays blu ray. So to each his own. You can bash the PS3 all you want for not having "cables". But I will bash the 360 for being a piece of crap, and the Wii for not having any good games. Back to playing CoD4 on my PS3. Oh and please sell the PS3 and never buy one again, even when it has amazing games.
