*stilll in shock over FFXIII with no towns/inn*

FFXIII... has no towns? ... or inn's? ... what the hell...

Don't act like you didn't know this already Seraphic, everyone who has done previews has said this already, even Dgc1808...

Not joking, i must have missed that on dgc's impressions and prides review. not saying anything more though since im not allowed to have an opinion on it though.

You can say anything you want about FFXIII, don't start taking it personally like you use to Seraphic ffs.

But I do find it rather odd that you always get surprised by the negatives in FFXIII, even though they have been repeated over and over again, and talked in counteless threads, threads that you have been to as well.

I was also unaware about the lack of towns in FFXIII and it's my most hyped game! LOL

It's actually a good thing if you ask me. Towns were always boring.

There are towns, it's just a few of them, in the same amount that FFX had which was a very tiny amount of them, in comparison to other FF games.

Just because a game is set in a city doesn't nessisairly mean there is a town.  Since the city could be abandoned... or everyone can be "in doors" because of the fighting.

We have seen towns in the TGS 09 trailer, towns where there were people roaming about.

Your acting like it's ridiculious for people to believe it when in reality... it's believable since it pretty much came from quotes... and not everbody is spending 24/7 looking up info in the game like you.

Chill out.

Do I really come off as angry?

That's weird.

I'm actually rather tranquil right now... the only times i really get angry are at videogames, hah.  I'm really quite a laid back in person... it tends to get on peoples nevers actually.

Either way, your acting like people should remember EVERYTHING from a trailer that was months ago, and disregard more recent comments.

Well yes to me most of your posts come off with a hint of anger or seriousness. In real life we are all very different people from what we seem like here I'm sure.

I was saying that we have seen towns in trailers before, if you think I was acting like you should remember it, you were wrong.

Ha ha... this list is an absolute joke. How can a game with lower critical reception and (arguably) popular support than other games in it's own series be the best game of all time? Plus, this list is far too heavily skewed toward newer games.

GRAPHICS are improving, but to argue that gameplay is evolving is sheer opinion at best and highly fallacious at worst.

Then again, it is Famitsu after all, and the list does seemingly legitimize their recent rash of "perfect" 40's.

You realize this is by readers right?

Yes, I do.  Convenient though isn't it?

Besides, nobody has been able to answer the main point.   That is, people have short memories!  I find it humorous that people say that I said FF13 was trash when I said nothing of the sort - only that there were FF's that scored better and - I project - sold better than this one.  I haven't played FF13, and - unlike some folks on here - I don't diss games that I haven't played enough to have an opinion.

For those saying that this poll was "honest" because it didn't include a bunch of "tired classics" <paraphrase>, well, there are many elements of those games that have yet to be equalled in any newer game.  Graphics of course get better, but there is plenty of value in those games - not mere nostalgia.

A couple examples....

(1.)  Tetris is one of the most pure gaming experiences in existance.  There are literally hundreds of iterations of it, and it is known by millions.  Is it not worthy because it has primative graphics?

(2.)  While it is only an opinion, I am not the only one that feels MGS1 to be the pinnacle of the series.  Where is it?

So what we essentially get from this list is that new is tantamount to better, and I (for one) do not believe it for an instant.  This list is no better than any other "top X games of all time list."  In fact, its age bias makes it laughable.  There is a difference between "good" and "all time".

They're calling this harder than FF1, FF2, and FF4?

What FF4 considered very hard?

Yeah, the DS version in particular... though this was alleviated if you used Slow on every single boss

When they brought FF4 to the west they made it way easier than the Japanese version, that's why everyone on here is saying that it is so easy.  The Japanese version is more like the DS game, i think the DS one might actually be a little harder than that even though.
