Sadly but expectedly, Valkyria Chronicles and Demon's Souls are overtracked (massively). Way too niche to be acknowledged. MW2 and other titles didn't help much either X_X

This is probably system error if you look at this it's often high quality low sales number gamers that are very hypped in the internet that get overtracked a lot by VGC.

This would imply that those games receive the status of must have's and the number of for example VC sales is a some multiplier*number of consoles sold (you can see this by investigating massive surge of VC sales in christmas season)

demons souls and VC numbers were just too good to be true, they really are pretty niche. vgchartz also overtracked fire emblem by quite a bit before, i remember it getting close to a million at one point if i remember correctly. It has been adjusted way down.

Uncharted 2 overtracked? Probably by less than 10%. Hardly something worth saying I told you so over. >900K for USA vs 1.27 million for whole of Americas, that's reasonable correlation in my book. Other games listed here have significant discrepancies, but not really Uncharted 2.

Yes I'm quite certain ioi uses an internet hype factor modifier in calculating estimates for games. It definitely seems like it would improve the accuracy of the estimates most of the time.

Like I said >900K in USA only vs 1.27 million in total Americas. If you consider the UC2 sales outside USA (within the Americas countries) then your >900K will get a lot closer to 1.27 million than what you suggest here. It's entirely possible that 900K + the rest of the Americas gets to around 1.2 million. Is as little as 70K really that much of an overtrack that it should be specifically commenting on? I don't think so.

Wait until UC2 goes greatest hits / platinum before pronouncing it as never going to outsell the original. I haven't got UC2 yet because I'm waiting for it to go platinum so I can buy it for almost half the new release price. I was tempted to buy it used the other day, but I figure I should give Naughty Dog the honour of a new game purchase.
