^ Im not sure I agree there are a lot of games for the iphone "worth playing". The issue is there is so many games "throwing paper in trashcans" out there that if your lazy and don't take the time to navigate the store you wont find them. All I know is I can get a very good action rpg that last me hours for 3 bucks and delivered instantly to my phone. I love it

That's my whole point.

The public is lazy. The service is clogged. This is a very similar occurence on the wii, which many people agree to.

Or maybe the public doesn't have the same interests as you. Some of the smartest, hard working people I know can get a few minutes of enjoyment playing a simple game.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

I see what your trying to say now I misread. I thought you were trashing the system. My bad. I agree with you with the wii comparison.

That's because all you need for a game to be popular on the iphone is a simulation of throwing a piece of paper into a trashcan.

Just as how it's always been, an environment like that is going to become clogged very easily. In such cases,  games that are actually worth playing are going to be few and far between.

Actually, throwing a piece of paper for me makes more sense to call it game than watching those hours of cut-scenes and computer animation which modern "true games" became :P

Shouldn't we declare HD-twins gaming somehow clogged too?

Seems like you're far too concerned about the HD systems for someone who throws paper into a bucket for fun.

Ouch. You and such an interest of yours in quality of iphone games really got me here. Right.

Well, that's what you get for taking a factual occurence and using an extreme counter-example to defend it. :D

EDIT: Well, that's what you get for taking an argument and changing it into something else. This isn't about game-quality, it's about the market.

$500 for a touch screen netbook with no keyboard, no ability to upgrade ram/hdd, no USB ports, limited to Apple App Store....  No MULTITASKING!?!

Big NO.

Thats the thing though. I wasn't into those throw the paper in the trashcan type games till I got an iphone. They are fun to just pick up and play for about 5 mins or so and put down. The system also has games that you can invest some serious time into and get great satisfaction. To me its not clogged just varied for everyones needs. I think it works perfectly for everyone thats why its such a success.

staying on topic however I voted no for this to be a gaming option. One is the price compared to whats out there right now and 2 is to me its just an oversized iphone. If your into mobile gaming like myself the phone would be a smarter choice.

I don't see people buying it for the gaming, too. What I'm interested however is if one having bought an app for iPhone/iTouch can use the same application on this "thing", too? If so, it will certainly boost software sales in AppStore a bit, because people will be more willing to buy the soft if they could use it on both devices.

? I'm not sure what you are trying to defend or clarify here. The post I was responding to, was in regard to publishers making more money on the Iphone than on the DS or PSP combined. This has nothing to do with the "simplicity" of a game, but rather the simplicity of making the game/selling it.

You shouldn't get involved in a conversation if you don't know what the conversation is about.

Also, this sums up the iPad pretty well:

 - phone

I think that as a product is stuck in a weird place, unlike the iphone/ipod.

Okay, I've read through some of the articles, I've looked at it a bit (already I know more than Apple's average consumer). What's so great about this? Seems like a gimped MacBook. Like, seriously. Does Apple really think that people will just buy anything they release in big numbers? Like Apple can yell, "HEY, A NEW PRODUCT FROM YOUR FAVORITE COMPANY, BUY IT!" Am I missing something here? And why is it that Apple can convince people to buy everything for ridiculous prices?

Alright, I'm done. Maybe someone can explain this whole thing to me.

Im trying to figure this one out myself. But I own a lot of apple products and im very happy with my purchases. I am confused with this though. Im not sure about your other question though. All the products I purchased from apple seem to have a reasonable price for what it does. I think that price thing gets spoke on far to much.
