kindle is free wireless anywhere, not just at AT&T hotspots.

That iPad thing works under only near AT&T Wi-Fi?! F* this, I'm uninterested.

My main problem with it as well

Hm, I'm trying to find something on this, but it looks like it's 3G models which will be supplied with AT&T data plans.

So it means the Wi-Fi adaptor is free to use anywhere and theprofo just had a quicker with his hate ><

i cant believe how cheap it it! everyone thought it would be $1000...WOW

That's actually the version without 3G, if you want 3G it's:

  • 16GB - $629
  • 32GB - $729
  • 64GB - $829

Ontop of that you also have a $30/month unlimited 3G plan plus whatever you're already paying for your iPhone.

I'll pass.

As for gaming, many publishers are already making more money from Apple App Store games than they are they are from the DS or PSP. I am sure this will only expand with the addition of the iPad.

Has there been any news on the 3d hardware in the iPad? i saw the screen was 4x the resolution of the ipod, but saw nothing about the graphics hardware.

@ WiiStation360

Looks like GPU is integrated with the processor... I didn't know Apple makes their own chips... don't even know what to think

Also, this sums up the iPad pretty well:

THat's because all you need for a game to be popular on the iphone is a simulation of throwing a piece of paper into a trashcan.

Just as how it's always been, an environment like that is going to become clogged very easily. In such cases,  games that are actually worth playing are going to be few and far between.

Will there be gaming on this -- yes.
Will it be bought for gaming -- no.

I'll buy it to **ahem** touch it.

OT: So will there be a bundle price for the 3G if you sign up for service?

For 3G, you either pay $15/month for 250mb or $30/month no contract for unlimited.

On one hand I would only really see using this at my home or in someplace that has wifi, but on the other hand I could see 3G being useful and just nice to have.
