They're shooting themselves in the leg, with the "allways online". They lose customers, piss off the uninformed customers who don't have internet access, it hogs even more available power from the system and it offends privacy.

Pirates will get around it anyway so why bother?

Well, I dont think they were counting on much profit from the PC version anyway so this may be more like an experiment to them instead of an actual ploy for more sales, hence, the lack of marketing for that version.

It was a matter of time before this would happen.

After all the money they will pour into perfecting this DRM scheme I have little doubt it will be cracked within 72 hours.

of course piracy decreases sales. they don't need to prove that fact.
