Eh, their 2000 easily beats this list, I'd say. I don't know why Max Payne is up there.

Of course, 1998 is unbeatable as far as years go (example), but that's out of the decade..

2001 is one of the biggest year in gaming. It is like we got FFXIII, MGS4, GT5, Halo 3, GTAIV, SSMB in same year. All those game are among the most hyped games in VGCHARTZ.

Comparing PS2 in 2001 with PS3 in 2007 there are huge difference. PS2 got lots big exclusive while PS3 only have Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted and Heavenly Sword which are way behind GTA3, FFX, MGS2, and GT3.

Anyways the list is good (not a big fan of FFX myself).

I would just have put GTA3 as PC... not the SA and others, but the base GTA3.

Final Fantasy series appeal only to it's fans, who'll diss everything else for their beloved story driven JRPG.

The rest hates that series with even more passion than their fans love it, so it's no surprise that this game didn't make the list. BTW FFX is not that great game, more as it's a landmark game.
