God of war 3 > all else

Yep once you get over the carbon copy nature of Dante's Inferno you can relax and enjoy using the same gameply style in a different and interesting setting. And hopefully the story won't be utter trash.

The Hack'n'Slash guys have got to stick together to keep the shooter lot from obliterating this excellent genre (even though Bayonetta and Devil May Cry are Shoot'n'Slash their spiritual home is the H'n'S genre).

Heavenly Sword deserves an honourable mention here too, because I've only just got my hands on it and have only just started playing it and I'm enjoying it a lot. And a lot of the visuals were done by Weta Digital just down the road from me, so I got to support the local boys.

God of War III is definitely going to sell more than Dante's Inferno. Dante's Inferno is a new IP. I expect good sales from the game but GOW III is the most anticpated title for the PS3 in 2010.

didn't read all the posts but god of war 3 is the only reason I might buy a ps3. I have wanted to play 1 and 2 but i've never had a ps2.

It's really nice (and rare) to see this kind of thing happening.

Zipper + Turn 10 should learn from this.

I just played the Dante's Inferno demo and I have to say that is one of the best rip offs I've ever played. I don't mean that in a bad way because they did a good job at what they intended to do. If I was younger and had never played GOW before I would think this game was one of the best games ever. I have yet to play GOW in HD but Dante's Inferno looked really good and the atmosphere was amazing as well as the sound effects. I can't wait to see how GOW tops it, I'm sure they will, but I was impressed with Dante's Inferno.

Thats the reason why God Of War is one of the best games ever.
